A budding entrepreneur at the age of 13, the winner of this award carried on a successful business under the moniker "Jane’s Junk", purveying antiques and assorted items of interest.
Leaving her roots in Mildmay and Walkerton she pursued studies at Oxford in the UK. Upon her return she continued her formal training, studying advertising and graphic design at Humber College in Toronto.
To this training, she added an impressive list of accomplishments in the corporate world, eventually deciding to move back to our area to support her ailing parents, establish her own business and raise her family. Toronto’s loss is Bruce-Grey’s gain.
The company she established in 2003 with her husband Brian is approaching the $1million sales milestone.
A community minded citizen; she works tirelessly in support of numerous worthwhile projects. Her pet causes include the medical community and children in need. She is active in several organizations and support groups such as Rotary, Cops for Cancer, Parkinson’s, doctor recruitment and the Figure Skating Club, to name a few. During last fall’s municipal election, she launched a successful campaign and now sits at the Saugeen Shores Municipal Council table. |
