| Where friends meet and strangers become friends, is a fitting slogan for Cuyler’s Family Restaurant. Joyce Cuyler chose a location that several others had used for a restaurant business with little success. She was told time after time that she would not succeed, but Joyce was determined. She knew that her combination of home-cooked meals and superior customer service would make her restaurant different. Joyce created a family atmosphere with home-cooked food. Soups and pies made from scratch, thick beef and turkey sandwiches and homemade cheesecake are among the menu favourites. Joyce works 90 hours a week at the restaurant, but the rewards are great. Her regulars are more than just customers, they are friends. Joyce has succeeded where everyone told her she could not by creating an atmosphere that is warm, welcoming and feels like home. Joyce and her staff treat their customers like family and it is because of the demonstration of business excellence that the 2004 PEAK Award for Company of the Year (Over 5 Employees) goes to Cuyler’s Family Restaurant. |
